The New Orleans Pelicans are surging lately due to the impressive play of Brandon Ingram and the team is looking to secure a playoff berth within the next few days.

There are unconfirmed reports that the team’s often-injured superstar and former number-one pick, Zion Williamson might be able to play sometime within the last 3 to 4 games for the Pelicans.

NBA insider Shams Charania stated that New Orleans is overly cautious with Williamson’s recent development as they are doing their best to keep their franchise player healthy long-term.

New Orleans was a top 3 team in the west when the season started but stumbled when Zion succumbed to another injury. This has been a recurring problem with the 22-year-old in his young NBA career as he has been hampered by multiple injuries since he joined the league back in 2019.

The Pelicans have a plethora of young players on the team and if they can keep their core, they will definitely be one of the top 4 teams in the West sooner rather than later.

When healthy, Williamson is an absolute beast and nobody in the league can stop him physically. He has averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season and was named an all-star in February but missed the game due to an injury.
