Marlo Jones, the youngest son of Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., has passed away unexpectedly Friday. He was only six months old.

The announcement was confirmed by the Lions organization and originally reported by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

As the announcement was made, Jones left a picture message (seen below) on his Instagram, sharing the heartbreaking news.

Sympathy posts and tributes for the family have been going up on social media since then.

On behalf of all football fans everywhere, along with our writers here at Pro Sports Extra, our thoughts and prayers go out to Marvin, his wife Jazmyn and the rest of the Jones family at this time.
