Written by Brad Shepard

Trying to reclaim headlines from competitor AAF (Alliance of American Football), the XFL will name its first head coach and general manager on Thursday at 2 PM ET for its Dallas-based team.

Oklahoma Sooners coaching legend Bob Stoops is expected to be named the head coach and general manager of the team.

Stoops spent 18 years with the Sooners, winning the National Championship during the 2000 season and finishing his career with an impressive 190-48 record.

The announcement will bring much needed attention to the XFL, whose season doesn’t begin until 2020.
