WWE Superstars Join Ubisoft’s Brawlhalla Starting Tomorrow

Written by Robert Workman

With WWE Summerslam right around the corner, you’d think there’d be some big promotions going on. I mean, aside from the obvious push for WWE 2K20. Well, surprise, there is.

Brawlhalla, the Smash Bros.-esque fighting game from Blue Mammoth and Ubisoft, have announced the latest guest characters joining the frenzy. Along with other favorites from Adventure Time and Hellboy, it appears that four WWE superstars, in animated form, will be joining the party.

First up is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, fresh from his starring role in Hobbs & Shaw. As you can see from the trailer below, he can launch into a number of fiery attacks, using a special stone hammer in some cases.

Next up is Xavier Woods, aka Austin Creed, who hosts WWE’s Up Up Down Down gaming channel. Along with his trusty trombone, he’ll call upon his fellow New Day members Kofi Kingston and Big E to deliver some pounding to opponents.

Of course, what would a brawling game be without “The Man”? Becky Lynch will join the party, swinging her own variety of weapons while decked out in her traditional street gear.

And last but not least, you probably can’t see him, but, yes, John Cena is also joining the party. He has a number of powerhouse moves available as well, including some that involve weapons. (No word on invisibility, however.)

All four characters will be available starting tomorrow on all platforms. More than likely, they’ll be free, although Blue Mammoth hasn’t broken down the terms of what players can buy for them yet. Guess we’ll wait and see.

On top of that, a new Brawldown stage will also be introduced, and you can catch a glimpse of it below. Of course, it’s in a ring. And of course, there’s weapons.

Check out the trailer below and then ask yourself, “Who the heck would I pick to kick Hellboy’s ass? The Rock? John Cena? Hey, you can’t go wrong with The Man.” (And you really can’t, let’s be fair.)

Brawlhalla is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
