World Series To Be Cancelled Due To COVID-19 Surge?

Things are not looking good for the World Series in a few months. While it is a fair assessment to say that MLB is planning on finishing out their season, there is certainly a possibility that we will not see a World Series this year due to the rampant increase in COVID-19 cases lately.

The new “Delta Variant” of COVID is allegedly a much more highly transmissible strain than the previous ones. Because of this, the United States among other countries have seen cases soar over the past few months, and unfortunately it does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.

The worst part of it all is that people who have been vaccinated, whether it be through Phizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson are still contracting COVID. While those are vaccinated allegedly do not have the worst of symptoms, they still can contract it and obviously still be carriers.

Unfortunately, it is a very real possibility that in the coming months we will see another nation-wide if not global shut down of businesses, schools, and potentially professional sports leagues. Unless there is a flattening of the current curve upward, the Biden Administration will likely pull the plug on things and we will be back to square one.
