Winners and Losers

Winners

Alabama came out and murdered Miami.  The Tide was a big favorite, but a lot of people, including myself, though there was a chance this game would be close.  After Alabama lost so many players to the NFL, there were 100% some questions.  Well, the answer to all those questions is, Alabama is still amazing, Nick Saban is the best, and it looks like Bryce Young is a stud.  Young threw for 344 yards and 4 TD.  Amazing.

The defense was huge this week.  A lot of people thought we may just see the trend of the offense rolling through the league, that was not the case.  Georgia and Clemson was a defensive battle.  Clemson only had 2 rushing yards! Virginia Tech stunned Heisman hopeful Sam Howel.  Penn St and Wisconsin was a very typical BIG 10 defensive game.

UCLA was a winner if I had ever seen one.  After the Bruins murdered Hawaii, everyone wanted to see how they would perform against a real team in LSU.  Chip Kelly and UCLA were up for the challenge and look like a team that can compete in the PAC 12.

Losers

The ACC is the big loser this week.  Clemson lost to Georgia.  Florida State lost to Notre Dame.  Louisville lost to Ole Miss.  Miami lost to Bama.  North Carolina lost to Virginia Tech.  Now I think Clemson will be fine, that game was super close.  Miami just ran into a Bama train.  But wow, was this a shitty weak for ACC teams.

Heisman hopefuls did not have a great week.  Spencer Rattler and Sam Howell did not have great weeks.  For some of the underdog Heisman fellas, Carson Strong, Matt Corral, and others, this was a good week.  For the two odds on favorite guys, not the best showing in week one.

Coach O is the last, and maybe the biggest loser of this week. It has become very obvious that he is just not a good coach. The 2019 team was lightning in a bottle, and he had nothing to do with the success of the team. Chances are O will be fired by the end of the year, and LSU will have to go in a new direction.
