Why Don’t the Raiders and Chargers just intentionally tie?

Written by Noah Gagnon

First off, I’d like to say that I’m currently writing this blog whilst suffering from COVID-19. Please applaud me. This is the modern-day version of Michael Jordan dropping 38 flu, except slightly more impressive. Now, someone please explain to me why the Raiders and Chargers aren’t just kneeling every play and intentionally tying?

If these teams don’t tie, then one of them misses the playoffs, if they do tie, then they both make it. Sure if you win the game none of it matters, but you could just call a truce and both get in. At the end of the day, one of these teams is gonna lose, and I bet they’d wish they just tied, but they tried to be all prideful and actually win the football game.

Do you think the teams at least talked it over? Maybe the two head coaches got on the phone and decided against it. It would’ve been awesome if they were both kneeling out the clock and then with two minutes left one team just drove down the field and completely screwed the other team over. We could be seeing drama like this, but instead, these teams decided to go all try hard and just play the game the right way. Total buzzkill.
