In a (supposedly) bad AL Central division, the Chicago White Sox have been disappointing to say the least. The previously predicted division champion is sitting right now in third place in the Central, and fans are chanting loudly that they’re not happy about it.

In the video below, fans in the Southside can be heard chanting ‘Fire Tony’ in regards to calling for manager Tony La Russa’s job with the White Sox. This comes after the team was down 3-2 in the eighth innings against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Though Chicago’s record is just under .500 at 32-33, La Russa is known for having a championship pedigree having won three World Series titles, but he’s also known for his stubborn tactics, enforcement of unwritten rules, and holding teams back from their potential.

White Sox fans this season can argue that it is La Russa’s fault that everything is his fault, but it is not entirely true. They lost their young star in Eloy Jiminez due to injury and their overall pitching is top ten in the league.

They should wait until at least the end of the season before they can call for La Russa’s firing. After all, Tony’s leadership was one of the leading factors on why the AL Central last season to begin with.
