Matt Tkachuk and Zack Kassian have singlehandedly revived the bad blood between the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. These teams fucking despise each other and the pot completely boiled over tonight.
This is wonderful for hockey. My mouth is salivating watching this. The beautiful game is at it’s best when teams truly can’t stand each other and it’s the only league in the world that allows it’s players to police the game themselves. I can’t wait to see all the twitter eggs freaking out tomorrow. “Think of the children!” “What about head injuries?!” “There’s no place for fighting in this sport!”. Fuck off. If you don’t like it go watch the Swedish Elite League where some scrub can take out the league’s superstar with no fear of getting his teeth caved in.
I’m praying to the old gods and the new that these two teams meet in the playoffs.
