For the first time ever in the postseason, we will have the San Francisco Giants taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Chris Taylor is the reason for that, as on Wednesday night, Taylor took an offering from Alex Reyes and drove it to the left field outfield seats of Dodger Stadium to send the defending World Series Champion Dodgers to the National League Divisional Series.
Taylor was in the midst of a 9-for-72 slump before he hit the fourth walk-off home run in Dodgers history; Kirk Gibson, Justin Turner and Max Muncy have the others.
The Dodgers, who won 106 games in 2021, fell one game short of winning the division and were forced to play in the Wild Card game against the Cardinals, who had won 17 straight at one point.
Now, those 106-win Dodgers will face off against the 107-win team that won the National League West in the Giants, which will start Friday night.
