In a re-match of the first round matchup of the Western Conference Playoffs, it was more of the same result on Friday night at Staples Center with the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns.
The Suns had a commanding lead at halftime over the Lakers and continued so in the third quarter. Things got a bit chippy on the Lakers side of things, as Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard were seen having an argument that had a bit of shoving.
It’s unclear what caused them to start getting at each other, and for all we know, it was something during the heat of the moment, but it wasn’t the best look for a team getting blown out at home.
Howard and Davis were teammates two seasons ago when the Lakers won the 2019-2020 NBA Finals; Howard returned to the Lakers after spending a season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Lakers came into the year with serious championship expectations and will have to sort out the mess of this loss.
