Upper Peninsula Town Enters Contest to Hopefully Host HGTV’s Home Town’s Takeover (Calumet)

Written by Nate

A YouTube video was posted a couple days ago by Main Street Calumet as part of a process in applying to bring in HGTV show, Home Town, to the town of Calumet.

Hosted by husband and wife, Ben and Erin Napier, the show focuses on renovating Southern houses in southern Mississippi. Their new show, ‘Home Town Rescue,’ will be a show that will feature the Napiers’ renovating and building homes and community spaces in selected towns.

The city of Calumet is hoping to be one of them. Main Street Calumet listed in the description that they’re hopeful that the tiny town in the Keweenaw Peninsula would be ‘the perfect place,’ thanks to their great history and historic architecture.

Calumet is one of three towns in the U.P. that are participating in the contest, along with Sault Ste. Marie and Manistique. There will be six episodes of the Rescue spinoff scheduled, and one of those future episodes is slated to be shown next year.
