Umpire Gets Ejected For Trying To Fight Player

Written by Tony Ghaul

An umpire got ejected for trying to fight a player in a game between the New York Boulders and the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League

The game was delayed was delayed for an hour during the first inning as the result of an altercation that began after Boulders player Tucker Nathans was ejected by umpire Warren Nicholson.

The umpire (Nicholson) appeared to strike Nathans in the midsection and was subsequently asked to leave by the chief umpire.

The whole incident stemmed from the ValleyCats manager accusing the Boulders of stealing signs and cheating. That’s what led to the umpire asking for the removal of the tablet.

Nicholson was ejected from the game and exited the field through the center field fence. He was replaced by Lou DeLuise, who lives close to the stadium.

This is one of the most bizarre incidents that I have seen. This may be the first time an umpire has ever been ejected from a game.
