A large fight at a local Waffle House this past weekend left a teenage girl hospitalized in the ICU with serious injuries and a Tulane football star arrested.

Tyler Judson, a defensive back for Tulane, has been charged by the Zachary Police Department with second-degree battery for his role in an incident that occurred this past weekend at the Waffle House around 2:30AM in Zachary, LA. According to police Judson punched the female victim in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and sending her to the hospital with serious injuries. She has been admitted to the ICU.

Judson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison but was soon released on a $7,500 bond.

In an interview with WWL-TV, the victim’s mother described the victim as weighing only 70 lbs. and standing only 5’1” tall. This is significantly smaller than Judson, whose Tulane bio lists the defensive back at 185lbs.

The victim’s mother, Desiree Coleman, went on to say the victim has multiple facial fractures and will require surgery.

In a released statement, Tulane Athletics wrote, “Tulane Athletics is aware of Tyler Judson’s arrest. He has been suspended indefinitely from the Tulane football program. Tulane Athletics will have no further comment at this time.”
