Independent Pro Wrestling fans’ dreams came to fruition when All Elite Wrestling finally debuted LIVE on TNT in October, 2019. It’s a vision that 4 young men who all had the same goals…be different. Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson have all wrestled across the globe & for several companies going back nearly 2 decades. But nothing would be as fulfilling as to giving fans the ultimate DIFFERENT Pro Wrestling experience which is exactly what they created with All Elite Wrestling with the help of Tony Khan, who’s been an integral part in all of this & that can’t go unnoticed. As a life-long Pro Wrestling fan, this is all we’ve ever wanted. Not because we hate WWE or won’t watch WWE anymore, but we needed a buffer in-between WWE’s shows & it could ultimately be a blessing in disguise for them as well, because without competition, you get complacent & that’s exactly what WWE did for a decade. AEW is the best-case scenario for their entire company & superstars, for the WWE so they have to up their product & most importantly, for us…the fans.

Without boring you any longer, let’s get into the Top 10 matches of AEW’s short history as we only have from October 2019 until March 2020 to base this list off of, but it certainly doesn’t lack unbelievable matches.

  • 10 – Kenny Omega & Adam Page vs Lucha Bros – AEW Dynamite, 2-19-20

Reason – The newly crowned AEW Tag-Team Champions, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page made their next title defense against maybe the most successful global tag-team in Pro Wrestling history, in the Lucha Bros, Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr. You’d expect a thriller between these 4 guys & they did just that & more. The champions would retain, but watch all of the action for yourself, below.
  • 9 – Cody vs Wardlow, Steel Cage Match – AEW Dynamite, 2/19/20

Reason – This was the last of MJF’s stipulations for Cody to earn a match with him at AEW Revolution…face his bodyguard, Wardlow in a Steel Cage match. Cody was victorious & it produced one of the most iconic moments in the company’s history, when Cody launched himself off of the top of the cage & hit Wardlow with an insane cross-body. Watch the entire match & the iconic moment, below.
  • 8 – Chris Jericho vs Adam Page, Inaugural AEW World Championship – AEW All Out

Reason – 3 months prior, Chris Jericho defeated Kenny Omega & Adam Page defeated Cody Rhodes, each to earn their spot a match with a chance to become the first ever AEW World Champion. It was a match that lived up to the historic element that it inevitably would have. Chris Jericho got the better of the Hangman on this night. Watch the full match that birthed Le Champion, below.
  • 7 – Jon Moxley & PAC vs Kenny Omega & Adam Page – AEW Dynamite, 10/16/19

Reason – This was the first time Kenny Omega & Hangman Page would team up in AEW & little did we know it would end up birthing future AEW Tag-Team Champions in the pairing. Watch this terrific match between 4 of the best workers on the planet. The future champions would win this one & ignite the Moxley vs PAC feud. Watch it, below.
  • 6 – Jon Moxley vs Darby Allin – AEW Dynamite, 11/20/19

Reason – This match didn’t really have a rivalry behind it & no malicious intent between the two competitors which may have been the reason it was so great. Just 2 workhorses going at it for 15+ minutes. Enjoy this one, below.
  • 5 – Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks – AEW Double or Nothing

Reason – Another match between the 2 best tag-teams on planet earth would occur at AEW Double or Nothing. These 4 guys have the best chemistry that any 2 teams have ever had in Pro Wrestling history. They could fight on every single episode of Dynamite & at every single PPV & I think I speak for the majority of the audience when I say I don’t think we’d ever get sick of it. Watch one of their greatest matches, together, below.
  • 4 – Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks, Ladder Match – AEW All Out

Reason – This is the best match between the 2 best tag-teams of all-time. It was a Ladder Match for the AAA Tag-Team Championships. Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr would get the best of the Jackson Brothers in this one. I won’t waste anytime & I’ll let you enjoy this thriller in it’s entirety, below.
  • 3 – Cody Rhodes vs Dustin Rhodes – AEW Double or Nothing

Reason – Brother vs Brother. 2 men, bonded by blood, bonded by being disrespected by WWE, bonded by having a point to prove, bonded by having a disdain for their brother. This was an absolute blood-bath & was the most personal, intense match in AEW history. Watch the brothers brutalize each other, below.
  • 2 – Kenny Omega & Adam Page vs Young Bucks – AEW Revolution

Reason – The best tag-team match in AEW history, the best match in Pro Wrestling in 2020 & one of the best tag-team matches of all-time, these 4 guys know each other like the back of their hands & it showed at AEW Revolution when the AEW Tag-Team Champions, Kenny Omega & Adam Page defender the gold against the best tag-team in the world, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks. This was a half an hour of pure Wrestling bliss. Enjoy the full encounter, in which the champions retained their titles, below.
  • 1 – Kenny Omega vs PAC, Iron-Man Match – AEW Dynamite, 2/26/20

Reason – The best match in All Elite Wrestling history occurred on an episode of the weekly AEW Dynamite program. Think about that. The best match in AEW history, happened on live, free television. That’s what Cody, Kenny & the Young Bucks meant by being different then any other Pro Wrestling company. No other company would this occur. This was a 30-minute Iron-Man Match in which nobody gained a fall in the time-limit, so in sudden death, overtime, Omega would get the much-deserved victory over his rival, “The Bastard”, PAC. Watch the best match in All Elite Wrestling history, below.

All Elite Wrestling has only been around for 5+ months & it has produced some of the best matches in recent memory & personally, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next 5+ years, never-mind months.
