The New Orleans Saints hosted free agent LB Joe Schobert for a visit today, according to reports from around the league. Schobert, 28, played college football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since his time in Cleveland, Shobert has played with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers.
During his time with the Browns, he started 49 out of the 61 games he was active and recorded six interceptions, 20 pass deflections, and 10 forced fumbles. He was very productive when he was playing. After he played out his rookie contract, the Jaguars signed Shobert to a five-year, $53.7M contract which guaranteed him $21M. He played well for the Jaguars while starting all 16 games and recorded three interceptions, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and 141 tackles. After the season, the Steelers traded for Schobert where he played in all 16 games, while starting 15, recording one interception, six pass break ups, one forced fumble, and 112 total tackles.

He has posted over 100 tackles every season since 2017, which was his second year in the NFL. At the age of 28, Shobert is easily one of the best available free agents remaining and visits the New Orleans Saints today, June 10th, 2022.
