Wow, the Red Sox are an embarrassment. They were up ten games on the Yankees a little over a month ago and they just lost the wild card after getting swept on a doubleheader, and I really don’t see them recovering from this. It was just clear out there tonight, the Yankees are the superior team. Honestly, the Yankees should have swept them the last time they played too, but Aaron Boone put on two of the worst managing performances in the history of baseball and they blew it.

In all reality, the Yankees getting the wild card is probably a bad thing. This is just gonna get my hopes up that they can make a run this year, and I’m just setting myself up to get my soul completely crushed. It’s probably gonna be an ALDS loss to the Astros or Rays, and it’s gonna come in a heartbreaking fashion. I’m talking a walk-off or a shutout performance in an elimination game. Basically what happened in the last two years.

Whatever happens, let’s just enjoy the success while it lasts. And honestly, whatever happens is a win-win. If they stay hot and make a run — great. If they cool off and flake out, then Boone gets canned and we get a fresh start. But, I have faith in the run. 28 on the way.
