Yeah so the NBA Lottery is tonight (8:30 EST) and there’s a chance our ‘Stawns could win one of the top picks. These are the current odds for every pick:
Normally I’d be very excited, but this is the worst draft class at least in the recent years. Anthony Edwards is right now the #1 ranked prospect with James Wiseman & the infamous LaMelo Ball also projected to go in the Top-3. If I had the first pick I’d probably take Edwards, but it’s probably the most un-enthusing #1 overall pick since Anthony Bennett. LaMelo Ball is an electric factory and would put fans in the seats in Little Caesars arena, but I really can’t tell yet how good he will be in the association. Yeah he can drain 3’s from the logo like Trae Young, but if you throw on his tape from when he played in New Zealand, there’s a lotta shitty plays made by him. I like James Wiseman, but picking a big-man not named Zion Williamson these days in the Top-5 is disgusting to say the least. Killian Hayes might be an option for the ‘Stawns, especially if pick outside of the top-5, but he can’t dribble with his right hand and only shot 18% from three last season in Germany. Obi Toppin was awesome to watch at Dayton, but he’s already 22 (Yuck). Isaac Okoro from Auburn is interesting, but he needs to improve his shooting.
I’m not tryna be a doomer, but overall there isn’t anyone on the board who sticks out. But to be honest, I can’t see us getting a top pick anyway, because as everyone know, the Pistons will probably get screwed. My guess is we get somewhere around the 7th pick. At least I won’t be getting my hopes up to be disappointed later. I’m still very annoyed about what happened to Wings in the NHL lottery. Anyways, fasten up your seatbelts fellow ‘Stawns fans!
