With the 20th pick in the 2022 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Kenny Pickett. The Steelers passed on Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino in the 1983 draft. Pickett has drawn comparisons to NFL vet Derek Carr and i believe as a die hard steelers fan; that Kenny Pickett is the future of this organization. Everyone would think that a QB taken in the first round is going to be a superstar in his rookie year. Is that the case for the Steelers and Pickett? Yet there is another pick the steelers made in this draft that is really shining! That rookies last name also starts with pick. Thats right George Pickens is the rookie draft pick im talking about. Pickens was drafted in the second round 52nd overall in the 2022 draft.
So far in training camp Pickens has been a force to be reckoned with. Pickens has been observed absolutely Moss’ing defensive backs. Pickens was even saw staring down star defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and saying Don’t say Shit! This was after Pickens missed on 1 of his receiving routes, but hitting his next 4. Everyone thought coming out of the draft that Kenny Pickett would steal the show and be the next big star in Pittsburgh. To everyone’s surprise the 52nd overall pick has stolen the show and has become the front runner for rookie of the year out of Pittsburgh. Remember the name George Pickens, because he is going to make every team that passed on him regret it. Pickens attitude and ability are going to propel the Steelers forward for years to come and possibly project Pickens into Canton! This Steelers fan is excited for the future.
