The “Philly Special” Play Is Used By Harvard To Defeat Penn

Written by Tony Ghaul

The “Philly Special” was used by the Philadelphia Eagles in their SB LII win over the New England Patriots.

On Saturday afternoon in a stadium that is just minutes away from Lincoln Financial Field, which is the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles, Harvard pulled off the play to defeat Penn in triple overtime.

With the score tied at 23, Harvard WR Scott Woods went in motion and took the handoff at the snap from QB Jaden Craig, while receiver Cooper Barkate, running a reverse in the opposite direction, took a pitch from Woods, ran right, then lofted a perfect pass to a wide-open Craig for the winning touchdown.
