The Philadelphia Phillies continue to knock the cover off the ball, as they blast five home runs in the 12-7 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Alec Bohm, Bryson Stott and Trea Turner all homered for the Phillies on Tuesday night.
Bryce Harper got things going by blasting his 299th career home run. Harper is hitting .366 with 9 home runs and 22 RBIs in his last 25 games. He now has 14 homers for the season.
The Angels intentionally walked Harper in the sixth inning to face Alec Bohm. Two pitches later, Bohm belted a three home run that put the Phillies in the lead.
The Phillies now have 57 home runs for the month of August. It’s the most ever in one month in the franchise’s 141-year history.
The Phillies epic assault of the baseball has been fun to watch. The Phillies are making a strong push for the playoffs and hopefully another deep run, that brings home a title this time.
