The Notre Dame baseball team keeps their dreams alive for Omaha!

A BIG win for the Notre Dame baseball team tonight, as they down Tennessee, 8-6. Notre Dame is keeping their dreams alive for Omaha, as they hope to reach the College Baseball World Series.

The Fighting Irish third baseman, Jack Branningham, clobbered a three-run homer over the double-decker porches in left field at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. It was Notre Dame’s fourth homer in as many innings and Tennessee baseball trailed by a season-high seven runs Friday.

This put the Fighting Irish in the lead and the No. 1 Vols (56-8) couldn’t recover, losing 8-6 in the opener of the Knoxville Super Regional.

In the midst of all the baseball action, a mustard bottle was thrown on to the field! Yes, a mustard bottle! The mustard bottle along with a golf ball were infamous items that littered the field when fans threw trash on the field at Neyland Stadium during a Tennessee vs. Ole Miss football game in 2021.
