The full details, according to their tweet are an agreement between Mahomes and the Chiefs on a 10-year extension worth $503 Million. He gets $477M in guarantee mechanisms and ability to have outs if guarantee mechanisms aren’t exercised plus a no trade clause.
This makes Mahomes the first half a billion dollar player in sports history.
With an MVP award and a Super Bowl Victory, he has certainly earn this extension. Even with the large value of the contract, the Chiefs could be getting a hell of a deal by locking Mahomes up for this long.
