Cris Collinsworth and NBC Sports are closing in on a contract extension that would keep Collinsworth in the NBC booth on Sunday Night Football until 2025. The reported deal would pay Collinsworth around $12.5 million annually. Collinsworth has been sliding into the television frame since 2009 when he took over for HOF legend John Madden.

“The Slide” has been a fan favorite for years now and has blown up all over social media to the point where fans are grading Collinsworth’s slide each SNF.

With Collinsworth locked up until 2025, there are questions as to who the 62 year old former Wide Receiver will be calling games with in the SNF booth. Al Michaels, 77, has a contract set to expire at the end of this season after the super bowl. Mike Tirico will most likely be taking over the lead play by play duties next year, with Michaels taking on a limited schedule if he chooses not to retire.

What does NBC do with Drew Brees now? It has been rumored for weeks that Collinsworth would be going to Amazon as part of their Thursday Night Football streaming package and Brees would be taking his spot on SNF with Tirico.

NBC has too much talent, maybe they could do all of America a solid and send over help to that shitty ESPN Monday Night Football booth.
