According to cleveland.com, The Browns have no plans to release quarterback baker Mayfield, even if he still on the roster in July.

Baker Mayfield has been the center of trade talks ever since the Browns traded for Deshaun Watson and signed him to the biggest extension in history. Mayfield, 27, played college football at Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman Trophy as a senior. He was selected by the Browns first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Panthers and Seahawks are the two teams that have been the most interested in Mayfield and recent reports say that Carolina almost pulled the trigger on a trade but wanted the Browns to pay almost all of his remaining contract. The team did not want to do that. Where will baker Mayfield play in 2022? Is he going to be the back up for Deshaun Watson? Watson is expected to be suspended for at least the first half of the 2022 season, so does that mean that the Browns are looking for Baker Mayfield to start the 2022 season?
