The Bears are signing free agent quarterback Nathan Peterman to a one year contract, according to Tom Pelissero. Peterman, 28, played college football at Pittsburgh following a stint with Tennessee and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Bears recently released QB Nick Foles, so this is obviously just a depth move and keeping the QB room just a bit younger. Peterman has four starts in his career and has tossed for three touchdowns and 12 interceptions to go along with 573 total yards. He had a very strong pre-season with the Raiders in 2019 and remained with the team through the 2021 season.
