The Denver Broncos are bringing back veteran running back Melvin Gordon to one-year deal worth up to $5M, first reported by Jordan Schultz.
Gordon, 29, played college football at Wisconsin, and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He is set to enter his third year with the Broncos after leading the backfield in 2020 and splitting carries 50/50 with rookie Javonte Williams in 2021. He has rushed for over 900 yards in back-to-back seasons and this has kept his career alive and well after a few hit and miss seasons with the Chargers.
In his career, Gordon has started in 88 out of 98 total games possible, while rushing for 6,144 yards along with 53 rushing touchdowns. He has averaged 4.2 yards per carry thus far into his career and looks to keep the 1-2 punch going with fellow back Javonte Williams.
