The Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with Mike Davis

Written by Tanner Phifer

The Falcons have released RB Mike Davis, per Jordan Schultz. Davis, 29, played college football at South Carolina, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Davis had his breakout year in 2018 with the Seattle Seahawks, rushing for over 500 yards and four touchdowns on only 112 attempts. He spent the 2019 season between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears, and was never given a full starting chance. 2020 was the season that Davis blew up while starting 12 games for the Panthers and rushing for 642 yards and six touchdowns, while filling in for an injured Christian McCaffrey. After having a shaky year in 2021 with the Falcons and appearing in all 17 games, Davis will look for a fresh opportunity with a new team for the 2022 season.
