According to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger the WBO has ordered a bout between Shawn Porter and Terence Crawford for Crawford’s title. If there is no deal done within the next 30 days then there will be a purse bud with 60% of the money going to Crawford. This would be Crawford’s biggest challenge to date. I strongly believe that he has been protected by Top Rank, he hasn’t seen any real dogs at 147 and that’s why he’s not high on my pound for pound list. Shawn Porter is one of those dogs and he does not duck work. With wins over Yordenis Ugas, Danny Garcia, Adrian Granados, Andre Berto, Andrien Broner, and Paul Malignaggi, Porter is a worthy opponent. His only three losses have come by decision against Errol Spence Jr, Keith Thurman, and Kell Brook. At 33 years old Shawn Porter has once agin found himself in a position to be a world champion. The world wants to see Crawford vs Spence but could Shawn Porter play spoiler to one of the biggest title fights in welterweight boxing history?
