Unfortunately for the Curry family, Thanksgiving and Christmas this year is going to be a little bit awkward. News broke earlier today that Stephen Curry’s mother Sonya Curry has filed for divorce from her husband, Dell Curry. The two have been married since 1988 and have spent over 30 years together raising their children.
It sounds like however this has been going on for quite some time. Sonya allegedly filed the paperwork in North Carolina back on June 14th. While it has not been discussed as to what has caused Sonya to file for divorce, one can estimate it is likely due to irreconcilable differences.
As many of you may not, Sonya Curry is not the typical NBA mother. In fact, there is exactly one word that can be used to best describe her.
