Reports are coming in from the shooting that took place in Ulvade, Texas this morning and things aren’t looking up.
Governor Greg Abbott has came out and said that AT LEAST 14 kids and 1 adult have been killed from the “active shooter”.
It is believed the shooter entered the elementary school with a handgun and possibly a rifle, Abbott said, though details surrounding a possible rifle are unconfirmed. Abbott added reporting said the shooter had shot his grandmother before entering the school, but he said he had no additional information related to this.
Around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District said an active shooter was reported at the school, which has an enrollment of just under 600 students.
Uvalde Memorial Hospital said in a Facebook post that it was caring for “several students” in its emergency room. Another hospital, University Health, said it was treating a child and an adult patient from Robb Elementary.
Earlier, the district said that all schools in the district were locked down because of gunshots in the area.
Uvalde is about 85 miles west of San Antonio.
