Major League Baseball’s top free agent, Shohei Ohtani, has signed a 10-year deal worth $700 million dollar contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This deal is the richest contract in baseball history. Ohtani gives the Dodgers one of the most lineup’s in baseball.
Ohtani is a two-way superstar, he won’t be able to pitch in 2024 due to an elbow injury. Ohtani will the role DH this upcoming season.
Last season, Ohtani hit .304 and led the AL in home runs with 44. He won his second AL MVP award in 2023.
Ohtani spent the first six years of his MLB career with the Los Angeles Angels. He joins Dodgers organization that has won10 of the last 11 division titles in the National League West.
For his career, Ohtani has a 171 home runs with 437 RBI and a .274 batting average. He has 38 wins, 608 strikeouts and a 3.01 ERA.
