As usual, there is lots of quarterback position drama throughout the NFL this year. It was announced just a couple months back that long time Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was likely going to be leaving the Steelers after this season. While the report didn’t officially say he was retiring, it’s presumed he will and not actually leave for another team. It is also very likely that Roethlisberger played his last game at Heinz Field in a win against the Cleveland Browns last night
Rumors began to stir within the NFL that Kirk Cousins of all people could potentially be Big Ben’s replacement. While Cousins’ performance in Minnesota has been average, it is not certain that he will be the long term answer to the quarterback position in Minnesota. Only time will tell what the Steelers will do next and if Kirk Cousins will be part of the equation.
In other Minnesota Vikings news, the organization announced that it had surprisingly released backup quarterback Kyle Sloter.
