Seattle Seahawks Make Huge Decision On Geno Smith

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Seattle Seahawks assumed that they would play out this season with Geno Smith and Drew Lock at QB, then use one of their first-round picks in 2023 on one of the highly-touted QB draft prospects that are expected to be available.

Geno Smith in the midst of an MVP caliber season, it is now being reported that Seattle plans to begin contract talks with the QB after the season, with the intention of extending him and making him their long-term starter.

Smith has earned the job with the way he has played through the first nine weeks of the season. The 2023 QB draft class may be enticing, it would be tough to move on from a guy who they are currently having a ton of success with, in favor of a younger signal-caller who’s more of an unknown.

Smith was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month following an October that saw him lead the team to a 4-1 record while throwing 9 touchdowns to only 1 interception, leading to a 111.7 passer rating.
