Written by Chris Powers

2021 has not even a very good year for professional athletes. It seems that every couple days tragedy strikes a professional sports organization when we learn that either a current or former player has passed away.

Tragedy most recently struck the San Francisco 49ers when it was announced that Pro Bow player Dicky Maegle had passed away at the age of 86.

Maegle was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the tenth overall pick in the 1955 and went on to play for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys before retiring in 1962.

In other San Francisco 49ers news, hall of fame wide receiver Jerry Rice’s sons are beginning to take after their father on the football field. Just how good are they? Check out the video below so you can see for yourself!
