Saint Peters Nearly Pulled off the Shot of the 2022 Tournament (Video)

The 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament has had plenty of surprises, especially with the upset of #2 seed Kentucky Wildcats to the #15-seed Saint Peters Peacocks.

And perhaps the same team that pulled off the big upset Thursday night nearly made the biggest shot of the entire tournament.

In the video clip below in the first half, Saint Peters was trying to retrieve the ball after a turnover, when Peacocks guard Daryl Banks III just hoisted the ball saving it from going out bounds—and near miraculously got it through the rim.

Buzzer beaters do make nice highlights, but can all of us imagine what would happen if the shot went in? Everyone would be talking about it for years.

Saint Peters currently leads #7-seed Murray State in the game, so they don’t have to worry about the shot at the moment. Hopefully the Peacocks can continue their big run in the NCAA Tournament this season, we all need a great Cinderella story in our lives.
