58-year-old head coach of the Washington Football Team Ron Rivera won 25-3 against the Dallas Cowboys this week yet it’s far from the biggest victory of the week for Rivera.

In August, Rivera announced that he had been diagnosed with squamous cancer and started a seven week treatment plan. He has now finished the treatment plan and is cancer free. He will have to attend follow-up appointments from here on out, but this is still a huge deal for Rivera, who didn’t even miss a game while undergoing treatment.

Rivera, who won a Super Bowl as a player with the Chicago Bears, got his first job as a head coach in 2011 with the Carolina Panthers. They parted ways prior to the 2020 season. Overall he’s 78-68-1 with two AP Coach of the Year awards.

PSE extends a huge congratulations to Ron Rivera.
