Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney who is the chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, who is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, sent Roger Goodell and the NFL a letter from the House of Representatives last week.
Congress has requested the documents from Goodell pertaining to the Washington Football Team’s investigation this past offseason that was conducted.
“The NFL’s lack of transparency about the problems it recently uncovered raises questions about the seriousness with which it has addressed bigotry, racism, sexism, and homophobia — setting troubling precedent for other workplaces,” the chairs wrote.
A formal written report was never written about the investigation which has led many to believe that Goodell is protecting WFT owner Daniel Snyder. Only time will tell what could happen to Snyder along with others once these documents are turned over to Congress.
