2021 has not even a very good year for professional athletes. It seems that every couple days tragedy strikes a professional sports organization when we learn that either a current or former player has passed away.

Unfortunately this particular passing slipped through the cracks and was not widely reported on. Tragedy struck the New York Jets when we learned back in early May former tight end Pete Lammons, who helped the Jets win their first and only Super Bowl had passed away in a boating accident.

In other NFL news, former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has apparently received a new job offer according to TheSpun.com. You can check out what they had to say on the subject below.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Sanchez has been offered a role with Fox as an NFL game analyst. Should he accept the offer, Sanchez would reportedly be replacing former Fox analyst Chris Spielman, who left to join the Detroit Lions’ front office. However, Fox is not the only company vying for Sanchez’s services. ESPN is reportedly interested in keeping Sanchez on board in some capacity.
