Report: Becky Lynch Set to Join Marvel Cinematic Universe

Written by Jameus Mooney

Earlier this week Becky Lynch appeared on WWE’s The Bump to confirm her role in “Billions,” a Showtime show starring Paul Giamatti. You can see the Season 5 premiere tomorrow. While on the show, she mentioned she has many excited projects confirmed that she just can’t comment on yet, and it seems as though one of those projects have come to life, after Kris Tapley of Netflix and Variety has confirmed something even bigger for Becky Lynch: Marvel.

It’s realistic to think that Black Widow isn’t a possibility considering how close we are, but with a number of parts still not confirmed actress wise, it could absolutely be that. Eternals, Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings are also possibilities, the third of which will require a lot of physicality from its actors. The movie or size of the role is currently unknown, but what is known is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the highest grossing film franchise in the history of film, and the fact that they want Becky Lynch certainly proves that Hollywood has more than taken notice. The series estimates around 980 million in revenue per film. Regardless of role, this is another pivotal step in the career of Becky Lynch, who continues to build mainstream crossover appeal the WWE has been lacking for a good while now. “The Man” is WWEs most popular full-time star without question and it honestly isn’t even close. With nagging shoulder injuries, however, and a star getting brighter and brighter by the second, will she wrap up wrestling soon? That remains to be seen, but for now, WWE is finally building a mainstream star and the new face of the company, for the first time, is a woman, signifying the change of a once male dominated industry.
