Alejandro Villanueva is best known for being the only Steeler to enter the field during a National Anthem protest. Not only was he a conservative icon in the NFL and a US veteran, but he was a 2-time pro bowler. Today, he retires from the National Football League.
From 2016-2020, Villanueva started every game for the Steelers. In 2017, he was even given All-Pro status. The Ravens picked him up in 2021, where he played 97 percent of the snaps on their O-line.
He has not given a reason for why he retired after just seven years in the league.
