Prior to the conflict, Instagram user and comedienne Luenell Campbell originally posted that DMX had died in her story, but has deleted the story just a few minutes later.

She would make a statement correcting her original story post, and has apologized to fans media outlets who have paid tributes to DMX already.

ORIGINAL STORY: We have some very sad news to report for hip hop music fans everywhere as music star Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons has passed away just days after being hospitalized with a heart attack. He was just 50 years old.

DMX was known for many of his hits including ‘Party Up,’ ‘Get at Me Dog,’ and ‘X Gon’ Give It to Ya.’ He was also mentioned for his standout performances include his mega attendance hit at Woodstock ‘99.
