Las Vegas Raiders star WR Davante Adams called out his teammates while discussing the team’s struggles on Sunday.
The Raiders disappointing 2022 season hit a new low on Sunday. They fell 25-20 to an Indianapolis Colts team that was led by interim head coach Jeff Saturday, whose hiring made headlines because of the fact he has zero NFL or collegiate coaching experience.
The Raiders now sit at 2-7. Only the Houston Texans (1-7-1) have a worse record than the Raiders.
Per The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Adams didn’t hold back in criticizing his team after the latest disheartening loss:
“Just don’t have enough guys that are fully bought in. I don’t think people are like, you know, ‘F what (McDaniels) is talking about’ or ‘I’m going against the grain.’ It’s just a matter of executing when it’s time…It means playing a complete game, every minute of the game, giving it everything you’ve got…It’s doing your job and making the plays when you’re called on and get the opportunities, and we just don’t do that at a high enough level right now.”
The Raiders entered 2022 with high expectations thanks to the acquisitions of two perennial Pro Bowlers in Adams and pass rusher Chandler Jones.
Adams has done his job, with 57 receptions for 784 yards and eight touchdowns through the Raiders first nine games.
The Raiders will next meet another slumping team in the Denver Broncos.
