New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was arrested Thursday for criminal possession of a weapon at LaGuardia Airport.
Williams was carrying a Glock 19 when trying to board the flight. He does have a permit in Alabama, but not New York.
It is not clear whether the gun was loaded or not, or if Williams made it past security with the weapon. All of the reports I’ve read say that Williams was “attempting to board the plane” with the gun, which makes it sound like he was past security and at the gate.
Williams was processed by the Port Authority Police Department and the matter is to be handled by the Queens district attorney upon his release.
Williams was an All American at Alabama and Jets selected him third overall last year.
