Phillies Will Play Mets In London During 2024 MLB Season

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Philadelphia Phillies will play National League East rivals the New York Mets in the London Series during the 2024 MLB season, as per Sports Illustrated.

This season the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals will meet for a two-game stint there in June.

MLB had an agreement for games to be played in London for 2019 and 2020, but the 2020 London Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MLB is trying to expand its reach internationally to bring in more fans. There has already been a series played in Mexico City this season.

MLB is expected to hold a similar series in Paris, France, in 2025, as per Tom Verducci. The league is also working on plans to open the 2024 campaign in Seoul, South Korea.

The Phillies and Mets have yet to meet this season. They will do so for the first time with a three-game series scheduled to begin on May 30.

The Phillies getting a game in London will be a great experience for the team and its fans.
