Written by Tony Ghaul

Philadelphia Phillies newest edition, All-Star shortstop Trea Turner had a blast on his first with new team.

During batting practice in Clearwater, Florida, Turner hit a car with a foul ball. The players and coaches joked around with the prize free agent, poking fun at the massive contract he signed with the team.

Trea Turner’s 2023 salary is 27 million. Turner signed with the Phillies this past offseason, to team up with former Washington Nationals teammate Bryce Harper.

The Phillies were a couple of wins away from shocking the MLB world by claiming their first World Series crown since 2008. Adding a player of Turner’s caliber, is a big boost to very talented roster.

Turner was named an All-Star in each of the last two seasons and led all of MLB in batting average and hits in 2021. That season, he also led the National League in stolen bases.
