Written by Tony Ghaul

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins appeared to have suffered a significant injury to his left knee while attempting to field a ground ball in Thursday’s game against the Tigers.

The 30 year-old Hoskins entered the day hitting .355 with four homers and nine RBIs in 11 spring games.

Last season, he hit .246 with 30 homers in 156 games. He hit four home runs in the NLCS as the Phillies advanced to the World Series.

The Phillies have not announced an official diagnosis for Hoskins’ injury.
