Phillies Outfielder Cristian Pache Placed On Injured List

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache placed on injured list with torn meniscus.

Pache suffered the injury while running the bases after doubling in Philadelphia’s 3-1 win over the Astros at Minute Maid Park on Friday.

Pache, who had been off to a hot start with the Phillies, tore the meniscus in his right knee and will be placed on the 10-day injured list, the Phillies announced Saturday.

After struggling to hit in parts of three seasons with Atlanta and Oakland to begin his career, Pache appears to have found his niche with the Phillies as right-handed platoon outfielder.

The 24-year-old Pache is hitting .360 in 18 games with a home run and three doubles.

Outfielder Dalton Guthrie will replace Pache on the active roster. Guthrie spent time on the Phillies roster last September and October and this opening day.
