Philadelphia Phillies OF Brandon Marsh underwent successful left knee arthroscopic surgery with Dr. Steven Cohen in Philadelphia this morning, as per the team.

The anticipation is that Marsh will return to playing in 3 to 4 weeks and be ready to play by opening day.

With Marsh out, the Phillies outfield is thin. He was expected to play left field with Johan Rojas in center and Nick Castellanos in right. Jake Cave and Cristian Pache are on the bench.

The 26 year-old Marsh had a .277 batting average with 12 home runs and 60 RBI in 133 games last season.

Marsh spent two weeks on the injured list last August with a left knee contusion.
