The Philadelphia Phillies made some roster moves today.
They have placed RHP Dylan Covey on the 15-day IL (retro to 9/28) with low back pain and recalled RHP Luis Ortiz from triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Infielder Rodolfo Castro has been optioned to the Spring Training complex and INF/OF Weston Wilson has been recalled from triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Covey has a record of 1-3 and a 3.69 ERA in 28 games this year. He was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 20, 2023.
Castro was acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Bailey Falter on August 1, 2023. He has just 3 hits in 30 at bats for the Phillies in 14 games.
Ortiz has appeared in 13 games this season. He has an ERA of 3.50 in 18 innings for the Phillies this season.
Wilson made his first career start on August 9, 2023, hitting a home run during his first career at bat for the Phillies.
